Fleet Replacement Shows Support for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland

Woodside Distribution has added six new DAF CF 18TON rigids to their fleet. Supplied by TBF Thompson, these trucks were purchased as part of ongoing fleet replacement. Central to the appeal of these trucks was the safety features which include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and, lane departure warning. Additional features included a space cab which offers a higher roof with additional storage space, satellite navigation, an auxiliary cab heater and, a fridge.

Speaking about the new additions to the fleet, Simon Woodside – Managing Director for Woodside Distribution commented saying, “We are delighted to have acquired these modern trucks as part of our fleet replacement. By regularly updating our vehicles, we ensure that we have the newest, safest and most reliable trucks on the road. Having been in service now for just a few weeks, the feedback received from our drivers has been extremely positive in relation to the vehicle and the body built by Houston Coachworks in Ballymena.”

Mark McFadden, a driver for Woodside Distribution also shared his views on the new truck cabs saying “Since moving to the new DAFs, I can honestly say that they are very comfortable and spacious. I’m impressed by the dashboard and controls which are at an easy reach, meaning that drivers can control the vehicle at ease. Overall, I would rate these new trucks 10 out of 10.”

One of the six DAFs has been branded up to show support for our charity of choice – the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland. This gives added exposure around the charity’s great lifesaving work, which is key to accessing some of the most serious, traumatic and remote medical incidents, enabling patients to receive urgent medical care and attention.
